Ask yourself: How can we be respectful to ourselves, each other, and the people we are working with?
- Be curious and respectful––of the space, people, and each other.
- Be speculative and imaginative, which means being open to imagining possibilities and thinking out of the box.
- Be willing and welcoming to questions.
- Challenge ideas not people, because that is how we practice empathy and respect.
- Stand up and stand back to create space for everyone to share their perspective.
- Stay on topic so that you can keep discussions relevant to the subject matter.
- Maintain confidentiality. If someone shares a personal detail or story in the classroom, it’s their story to tell and not yours.
Discussion: What else should we add to this list?
